The Times today announces a new line-up of daily lifestyle supplements, with a dedicated section for each day, and a daily 4-page expanded puzzles pull-out called Mind Games, which is the largest puzzles section of any national newspaper.
The current daily features section, times2, will be
incorporated into the main paper, including its news features, daily arts reviews and the television pages.
Commenting on the changes, James Harding, Editor of The Times, said: “A previous Editor of The Times once said, ‘A newspaper…like a well covered table, should contain something suited to every palate.’ That was 225 years ago, but the value in catering to people's passions is just as true today. This is why we are expanding our line-up of daily supplements dedicated to football, well-being, fashion, food and free time.
We hope that by making these changes we will do what we try to do every day, namely take the most famous newspaper in the world and make it better."
The daily supplements will be as follows:
Monday: The Game
This award-winning section is the only dedicated football section in the quality press, brought to you by an expert team of writers including Patrick Barclay, Gabriele Marcotti and Tony Cascarino, covering the
weekend’s action from the Premier League to non-league and further afield.
Tuesday: Body & Soul
A new section for Tuesdays devoted to health and well-being, including expert advice from columnists Dr Mark Porter, clinical psychologist Professor Tanya Byron and nutritionist Amanda Ursell.
Wednesday: Fashion
A new style supplement that will provide a weekly fashion fix for readers, whether female, male, young or old. Fashion editor Lisa Armstrong, Sarah Vine, Luke Leitch and Giles Coren all contribute columns.
Thursday: The Table
A new section that focuses on food, whether the choice is dining in or dining out. Times columnists will write on food and recipes for all budgets and there will be restaurant reviews from around the country.
Friday: Arts & Ents
A new arts and entertainment supplement that will combine a comprehensive round-up of film and music
releases along with our pick of the best theatre, live music, ballet, opera and exhibitions, plus Caitlin Moran’s Celebrity Watch column. Friday’s award-winning Bricks & Mortar property section will also continue – the only dedicated property supplement in the daily press.
