It's kick off time for Wrighty's XI

Footballing favourite and Sun columnist Ian Wright is joining forces with Britain’s biggest newspaper to offer readers the chance to win the ultimate fans’ World Cup prize – a trip to South Africa as part of ‘Wrighty’s XI’.

Over six weeks Wright and The Sun will pick the ‘squad’ of 11 lucky winners to take the trip of a lifetime to South Africa to see England play in this summers’ World Cup.

The 11 lucky winners will get category 1 tickets to every England group game in the World Cup for them and a friend – as well as a 16 night stay in Cape Town, food, transfers and flights.

To join, readers need to register at www.WrightysXI.com.  The site is now open for registrations and the competition will run from 22 February for six weeks until March 29.

From 22 February, a question will be texted or emailed to each registered participant every day, with the answers only to be found in the Sports section of The Sun newspaper.   Readers must text or email their answers back to the paper.

Every week for 5 weeks two winners will be drawn from the correct answers, and in the sixth week a bonus winner will be selected from all correct answers from the duration of the competition.

The competition has been created for The Sun by advertising agency glue London, and has been made possible thanks to support from KIA Motors, Official Partner of the FIFA 2010 World Cup.

Ian Wright commented: “This is the reason why I love writing for The Sun - it’s the biggest and best newspaper in the world.  I have been waiting four years for the World Cup and now I get to send 11 of the most committed England football fans to experience it. It’s going to be amazing.”

Wright, who won 33 caps for England, scoring 9 goals continues his close relationship with The Sun newspaper where he writes a weekly column.

The competition will be supported with TV advertising around key football fixtures in February and March, and digitally with a suite of standard banner ads, rich media video ads, a viral video and a dedicated website www.WrightysXI.com
